The collection consists of 25 black and white photographs of a flood in Lansing, Michigan from April 1947. The photographs show neighborhoods, a few business, and possibly a power plant. The exact locations of the photographs are not identified.

Scope and Contents The collection includes two boxes of slides that depict the Michigan State University campus during the fall and winter and also a marching band performance on the football field. There are also two scrapbooks, "Cloud burst and flood", and one without a title. The first scrapbook contains pictures of the flooding on streets in East Lansing and on the MSU campus from February 12-14, 1938, as well as views of campus from 1937. William A. Ball Collection

Scope and Contents

The William A. Ball collection consists of color slides taken by Ball of the dedication of the Macklin Field in 1948. The dedication slides show the bands as well as dignitaries on the field. Other slides in the collection include flooding in Lansing and East Lansing in 1947, and a Lansing Memorial Day parade in 1947. One of the flooding pictures shows the MSC Band Shell with water around it.
